What is Kpopless?

Kpopless is a free, daily K-pop music guessing game. Every day you get three new puzzles — listen to a short audio clip from a K-pop song and guess the title before your attempts run out. The audio clip gets progressively longer with each wrong guess: one second, then two seconds, three, four, five, and finally an eight-second preview. All puzzles reset at midnight London time (GMT/GMT+1). No account or signup required.

The library

The Kpopless library currently contains over 2,000 tracks spanning all four generations of K-pop — from 1st gen acts like H.O.T, Sechs Kies, and g.o.d through to the current 4th gen. The daily puzzle algorithm avoids repeating artists in the same week and balances between popular and deeper-catalogue tracks, so you'll encounter both crowd favourites and tracks that require genuine familiarity with an artist's full discography.

New songs are added regularly. Monthly update posts on the blog document exactly which tracks were added each month and why.

How the scoring works

Getting the answer on the first one-second clip is the best possible result. Each additional clip you need to hear increases the number shown on your result card. If you skip or guess incorrectly on all six attempts, the round is marked as a failure and the song is revealed.

Your result card shows how many guesses you took for each of the three daily songs. You can share this to Twitter, Discord, or anywhere else — the card format is spoiler-free (it shows numbers and symbols, not the song titles).

Who built this

Kpopless was built and is maintained by Ned, an independent developer and K-pop fan based in the UK. It launched in December 2025 and has been updated continuously since. The full origin story — why the game exists and what the vision for it is — is in the blog post Why I Built Kpopless.

This is an independent fan project with no affiliation to any Korean label, streaming service, or entertainment company.

Music and audio

All song previews and album artwork on Kpopless come through the Apple Music API — licensed 30-second (or shorter) previews from an authorised source. The music belongs to the artists and their labels. For details on how audio content is sourced and how to submit a DMCA takedown request, see the Copyright page.
